SPRINGVALE SOUTH, VIC. — Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following a fatal fire in Springvale South on Friday night.
At 10.40pm on Friday, July 3, Fire Rescue Victoria was called to Montclair Close, Springvale South.
Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes of receiving the Triple Zero (000) call to find a bedroom on fire within a single-storey brick home.
An unconscious person was removed from the burning room by firefighters, who provided care until the Ambulance Victoria arrived.
The patient suffered significant burns and was transported to hospital, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
FRV Commander Illman praised the efforts of firefighters who not only removed the patient but also expediently extinguished the fire and contained it to the bedroom.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
