LAVERTON NORTH, VIC. — Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Boundary Road, Laverton North after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a factory fire.
Firefighters were called at 1.15am and arrived on scene within six minutes to find a concrete tilt slab factory with a tin roof fully involved in fire.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus established hose lines and began attacking the blaze, preventing any fire spread to adjoining properties. The blaze was contained to the structure of origin.
Nobody was present at the time of the fire.
An advice message was issued for heavy smoke in the area.
The incident was brought under control at 1.51am.
The fire has been deemed suspicious. Victoria Police will investigate.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV with operations.
Power, gas and water companies attended to isolate services.
The Municipal Building Surveyor was requested to attend.
