LILYDALE, VIC. — Knox Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are appealing for information regarding a historical sexual assault in Lilydale.
Investigators received a complaint from a female victim who attended a Lilydale doctor’s office in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
The woman was a teenager at the time of the incident.
Investigators received the complaint on June 26, 2026 and commenced an investigation.
Knox SOCIT Detective Senior Constable Jessica Barkley urged any victims or anyone with information to come forward.
“The Lilydale medical clinic where the incident occurred is no longer in operation,” she said.
“While we have only had one victim come forward at this time, we suspect there may be other victims out there who have not come forward.
“It’s never too late for people to come forward with allegations of this kind.”
