Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire possibly caused by a lightning strike to a Taylors Lake home in Mirror Court just before 1am.

Arriving firefighters commenced an internal attack on the fire which had broken through the roof line.

Due to a partial collapse of the roof firefighting activities were conducted externally.

Two occupants were evacuated safely.

At 1.48am, the fire was deemed under control with a brick veneer home severely damaged.

Operations continued through the morning to fully extinguish deep-seated hot spots within the home.
