MOUNT WAVERLEY, VIC. — At 2.59pm today, firefighters were called to an incident on Huntingdale Road, Mount Waverley, after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a three-bedroom brick premises well alight.
FRV crews used multiple hose lines to fight the blaze in an external attack as the fire started to spread into the roof of the structure.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus searched the house and confirmed that no one was inside.
The incident was declared under control at 3.32pm.
The house sustained significant damage.
FRV crews remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire.
Victoria Police and the gas company also attended the scene.
The incident has been deemed suspicious.
Victoria Police will investigate.
