FITZROY NORTH, VIC. — Police are investigating a suspicious fire after firefighters were called to reports of explosions heard on St Georges Road, near Holden Street, Fitzroy North, at 3.36am.
Detectives believe that unknown offender(s) forced entry to the premises and set it alight.

The premises, which were closed at the time, were destroyed.
Two neighbouring businesses were also damaged.
A dark coloured vehicle was seen leaving the scene.
ABC Radio Melbourne breakfast co-host, Bob Murphy, described “waking up to loud bangs, thinking it thunder, before seeing smoke and hearing sirens.”
A crime scene has been established, and the investigation is ongoing.
