Homicide Squad detectives this afternoon charged a 31-year-old Port Melbourne man with murder following the fatal stabbing of a man in South Melbourne on Friday night.
Emergency services were called after a 30-year-old South Melbourne man was located with serious injuries at a property on Iffla Street, South Melbourne before 7.30pm on Friday, November 29. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The alleged offender was taken into custody yesterday evening before being interviewed by investigators today. He was charged with one count of murder.
He appeared at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court late this afternoon. Whether the suspect was remanded in custody or released on bail is unknown.
Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
