Police are currently searching for and seeking public assistance to locate missing 6-year-old boy, Parfa, who has autism and is non-verbal, in Olinda on the Dandenong Ranges.

The primary school-aged boy was reported missing Friday afternoon after wandering from the Olinda Playspace area on Olinda-Monbulk Road.

Officers have been told Parfa, who has autism and is non-verbal, was last seen by family members about 4pm.

Friends and relatives searched for the boy before reporting him missing about 30 minutes later.

Local police, with assistance from the Air Wing and State Emergency Services (SES) personnel, are searching the area.

Search and Rescue police have also been notified, and the Dog Squad are on scene.

Parfa was wearing denim shorts and a blue and white t-shirt and is described as being Persian in appearance.

Police will continue to search for the missing boy throughout the day.

Anyone who sees Parfa is urged to contact triple-zero (000).
