SPRINGVALE SOUTH, VIC. — Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad yesterday charged a second teenager following an alleged abduction in Springvale South last Friday, June 26.
An 18-year-old Tarneit man was arrested at 10am yesterday.
He has since been charged with abduction, kidnapping, false imprisonment and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
He appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Investigators allege a 17-year-old girl was entering a secondary college on Janine Road when she was approached by a male about 8.30am on Friday, June 26.
The male allegedly forced the girl into a vehicle, which fled the scene.
Police will allege the 18-year-old was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Officers from the Special Operations Group later arrested the 15-year-old boy from the Wyndham area on Jezebel Way in Tarneit.
The 15-year-old was charged with abduction.
He has been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
Police believe the parties involved knew each other.
