ALEXANDRA, VIC. — The Alexandra East Development Plan and Murrindindi Shire Residential Design Guidelines have been nominated for the 2026 People’s Choice Award as part of the PIA VIC Awards for Planning Excellence.
The project is among a range of outstanding planning initiatives recognised across Victoria and was developed through a collaboration between Murrindindi Shire Council, MGS Architects and MESH (a Veris Company).
The nomination recognises the project’s role in guiding future growth in Alexandra while promoting high-quality residential design that reflects the unique character, landscape and identity of the local community.
Community members are encouraged to support the project by casting their vote by November 13. Every vote helps showcase the innovative planning work taking place in Murrindindi Shire and highlights the importance of creating well-designed places for current and future residents.
Murrindindi Council thanked the community for its support and “encourages everyone to vote and help celebrate this important recognition for the Shire.”
