Corio man charged over Geelong West stabbing

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives today charged a 26-year-old Corio man following a stabbing in Geelong West on Sunday.

It is believed a 52-year-old man was in his driveway on Britannia Street when the offender allegedly demanded the man’s car keys, attacked him and fled the scene at about 2.50am.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The Corio man was later arrested and has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, attempted aggravated carjacking, conduct endangering life and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

He has also been charged with several other offences relating to incidents in December 2023.

He has been remanded to appear before the Geelong Magistrates’ Court later today.
