GEELONG WEST, VIC. — Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following a string of burglaries in Geelong West over the last week.
Investigators allege two men gained access to several businesses along Pakington, Weller and Hope streets in the early hours of July 9 to 15.
Police will allege the following items were stolen from the businesses across the week:
– jewellery to the value of approximately $50,000;
– hair dressing and barber equipment;
– eyebrow tattooing equipment;
– cosmetic products and
– iPads and iPhones.
Following a thorough investigation, detectives arrested two men in Geelong West this afternoon and seized iPhones, jewellery, hairdressing and barber tools, hair care products, cash and drugs.
A 44-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with handling stolen goods, as well as drug and weapons offences.
A 28-year-old Geelong man was charged with five counts of burglary, attempted burglary and five counts of criminal damage.
The 28-year-old was remanded to appear before the Geelong Magistrates’ Court today.
The 44-year-old was bailed to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on September 4.
