NORLANE, VIC. — Police are investigating a fatal stabbing on Sunday afternoon.

Police believe three men and two women were involved in an altercation on Alkira Avenue about 12.40pm.

A man, who is yet to be formally identified, sustained critical injuries and was treated by emergency services but died at the scene.

A woman in her 20s sustained minor injuries and was treated by ambulance paramedics.

Two men and a woman fled the scene. No arrests have been made.

Homicide Squad detectives will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police believe the parties are known to one another.

Officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit will attend to process the scene.
