Police today charged a 27-year-old Werribee man after tracking an erratic vehicle through Winchelsea and Geelong suburbs yesterday.
It’s alleged the Werribee man, driving a red Ford Falcon, was driving erratically and at speed in the Winchelsea, Lovely Banks and Geelong areas on Friday, January 14 around 12:20pm.
The Ford was halted by ‘stop sticks’ in Werribee and came to a stop on Wedge Street North, Werribee.
The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital.
He has since been charged with several offences, including four counts of aggravated reckless exposure of police officers to risk by driving, dangerous driving whilst pursued and reckless conduct endangering life, among other charges.
The Werribee man was also caught with a controlled weapon and marijuana and will face charges for these matters.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 17.
