BELMONT, VIC. — Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses to a hit-run collision in Belmont that took place almost two years ago.
On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at approximately 1pm a 51-year-old woman was walking along Barrabool Road near the intersection of Riverview Terrace when she was struck by a vehicle.
The Belmont woman sustained serious injuries, including facial, skull and pelvic fractures, but the driver of the car failed to stop and help.
Several passersby stopped to help the injured woman and called emergency services.
The vehicle involved is described as a grey Holden Statesman, which would have damage to the front windscreen as a result of the collision.
