Cop car rammed in Eltham

A 27-year-old Pakenham man has been arrested in relation for allegedly ramming a police sedan in Eltham on Friday.

Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses and dashboard camera footage after the police vehicle was allegedly rammed.

It is alleged a yellow Ford sedan was driving erratically through Yallambie and Lower Plenty about 3pm before ramming a police vehicle in Overbank Road, Eltham about 3.30pm.

He has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life and aggravated reckless exposure of police officer to risk by driving and will appear before Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 3 July.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or with dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
