VicRoads confirmed to Murrindindi Shire Council it will conduct a community consultation about speed limit changes on the Goulburn Valley Highway in Yarck.
Council and CEO Craig Lloyd have been talking with VicRoads about speed limits in Yarck following council’s advocacy in recent weeks.
“We are really pleased VicRoads is proposing to consult the community about the driving speeds along the Goulburn Valley Highway, where it passes through the township of Yarck. We have been talking to VicRoads for a while about the importance of ensuring the community is consulted about possible changes to the speed limit, so this is good news,” Lloyd said.
“VicRoads has undertaken to advertise details of its consultation process soon. I would encourage anyone with a view about this matter to get involved. I’d also encourage you to ‘like’ Murrindindi Shire Council’s Facebook page as we will ensure we keep everyone up to date on this consultation through our page,” added Lloyd.
Surely the petition conducted in Yarck could be considered “community consultation” to save valuable time and resources?
