A man has died after his vehicle struck a tree in Garfield shortly before 1.30 am.
The crash occurred on Nar Nar Goon-Longwarry Road.
Despite emergency services’ efforts, the male driver died at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The Victorian road toll stands at 265 lives lost this year, compared to 270 lives lost at the same time last year (2023).
