SHEPPARTON, VIC. — Echuca and Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following the alleged theft of seven vehicles, including a police car in Shepparton, during March and April.
Detectives will allege a Kia Stinger sedan was stolen from Jumping Creek Road, Warrandyte, on March 22, before a second Kia Stinger sedan was stolen from Raymond Street, Dandenong, later the same day.
It is alleged that a Chevrolet utility was stolen from Midstar Court, Kialla, on April 7 whilst on Friday, April 10, detectives will allege an unmarked police car, a blue Kia Sorrento, was stolen from a car dealership on Benalla Road.
Detectives will also allege a Holden Calais sedan was also stolen from Pyrenees Road, Clyde, on the same day, whilst a Toyota Hilux was stolen during an aggravated burglary at a property on Bateman Drive, Echuca, on April 12.
Cash, keys and personal items were allegedly stolen during the incident.
Police will allege a seventh vehicle, a Ford Falcon sedan, was stolen from Orrvale Road, Orrvale, on April 13.
All of the allegedly stolen cars have been located, with the exception of the Ford Falcon sedan.
A 29-year-old Shepparton man was arrested in Kialla on 16 April and has been charged with:

- seven counts of theft of a motor vehicle;

- use Victoria Police identification;

- trafficking methylamphetamine;

- possession of GHB;
-
- dealing [in the] proceeds of crime;
-
- possess an offensive weapon;
-
- two counts of theft;
-
- obtain property by deception;
-
- unlicensed driving and
-
- commit[ting] an indictable offence while on bail.
The man has been remanded in custody to appear before the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court today.
