United States President Donald Trump is trying to create a “National Garden of American Heroes” that will open before July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
On January 29, 2025, Donald Trump revoked Joe Biden’s executive order related to his garden (originally proposed during his first term) calling for six additional names to be added to the list of historical figures that would receive a statue in the garden.
Some of the 192 men and 52 women set to receive a statue in the garden (if Congress ever appropriates funds for the project) include Kobe Bryant, Whitney Houston, and Andrew Jackson among others.
The complete list can be found here.
