Seven youths aged between 12 to 18 years of age were arrested last night after an alleged armed robbery on a bus travelling from Tarneit to Williams Landing at about 7.30pm.

Police have been told the 16-year-old male victim was approached by a male on the bus making demands for the victim’s AirPods and jewellery.

The alleged offender was joined by several youths who made further demands.

Police allege the group, some carrying edged weapons, began physically assaulting the 16-year-old and stole his property.

The bus driver stopped at Williams Landing train station and assisted the victim by calling triple zero.

Protective Service Officers were quickly on the scene and alerted police as local police were able to track down the group of offenders who took off on foot.

Officers located seven teenagers nearby who were arrested.

An 18-year-old Point Cook man, a 17-year-old Point Cook boy, a 15-year-old Point Cook girl, a 15-year-old Hoppers Crossing boy, a 15-year-old Werribee boy, a 16-year-old Laverton boy and a 12-year-old Point Cook boy were arrested.

They are currently in custody.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.
