84-year-old woman trapped in Malvern collision

Prahran Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses following a critical injury collision in Malvern around 9:30am yesterday. 

The collision occurred on Tooronga Road, between Viva and Young Streets.

Police believe the driver of a Ford Fiesta was attempting an illegal U-turn when they collided with an Audi, travelling north on Tooronga Road.

The 84-year-old driver of the Ford was trapped in the damaged car and had to be cut from the vehicle.

She was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Audi, who is currently disqualified from holding a licence was taken to hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
