Acting Commander Troy Papworth yesterday said police believed the rise in arson attacks was linked to organised crime.

“The practice posed a major danger to both victims and culprits, with several of the fires spreading to homes this week and a 13-year-old boy clinging to life with burns to 90 per cent of his body after the Taylors Hill blaze,” Acting Cmdr Papworth said.

It is the 14th vehicle destroyed by fire this week.
