ALBERT PARK, VIC. — Police this morning arrested a 44-year-old Armadale man after an alleged police car ramming.
Police located the man asleep at the wheel of an allegedly stolen car parked on Mills Street just before 5am.
The driver woke up when police blocked his vehicle and allegedly attempted to ram a police car out of the way.
Police used OC spray as they attempted to arrest the driver, but he allegedly continued ramming the car.
He was then tasered and removed from the vehicle, where he was arrested.
Ambulance Victoria attended and assessed the man.
Officers searched the vehicle and located allegedly stolen tools and drugs.
The car was allegedly stolen from Spensley Street in Clifton Hill between December 3 and 6. The registration plates were allegedly stolen from Rooney Street in Richmond on Tuesday, December 9.
No police officers were physically injured. There was minor damage to one police vehicle.
The alleged offender was taken into custody and will be interviewed today.
