TAYLORS LAKES, VIC. — Detectives from the Cybercrime Squad have arrested a man as part of their investigation into a report of a data breach involving a former CFMEU member and the subsequent sharing of personal information and photographs.
A 39-year-old Taylors Lakes man was arrested and interviewed by police.
He has subsequently been released pending further enquiries. An investigation remains ongoing.
Police also seized several items from his address, including a mobile phone, two conducted energy devices and knuckledusters.
Specialist detectives from the Cybercrime Squad are investigating the matter with assistance from Taskforce Hawk detectives.
The matter was reported to police on June 25, and the information being distributed is alleged to include intimate images.
Investigators will thoroughly assess any information about the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.
