Firefighters have just responded to a fire at the rear of 161 Bell Street, Preston, reporting that ‘a person’ has been found deceased in the vehicle, believed to be a Toyota Corolla, in suspicious circumstances.
A Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighter requested that police attend due to suspicious circumstances, and Ambulance Victoria was also requested for ‘crew welfare’.
Firefighters were instructed via dispatch to “preserve the crime scene.”
Fire Rescue Victoria’s media team when contacted said they could not comment due to the matter “now being a crime scene” and asked VicNews to contact Victoria Police Media.
Victoria Police were contacted for comment, stating that they “have no recorded incident on Bell Street.”
