TAYLORS LAKES, VIC. — At 4.19am on Friday, September 11, firefighters responded to an incident at Melton Highway, Taylors Lakes, after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a structure fire.
Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters arrived on scene at the Hanging Gardens Lounge and shisha venue within five minutes to find a restaurant shopfront fully involved in fire. The response was escalated.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire and conducted a search for occupants.
No persons were found inside.
The fire was declared under control at 4.51am.
The Hanging Gardens Lounge was heavily smoke-logged, so the crews ventilated and searched for fire spread to the roof, remaining on scene until the fire was fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
It will be investigated by FRV specialists and Victoria Police.
