SOUTHBANK, VIC. — Five teenagers have been arrested after a father and son were allegedly stabbed in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct last night.

Emergency services were called to Southbank at 1:50am.

According to police, a 47-year-old man and his 23-year-old son were walking with family members along the Yarra Promenade, Southbank, when a group of teenagers passed by and bumped into one of them.

A verbal altercation followed before the pair were allegedly assaulted and stabbed by the group of teenagers, who were aged from 14 to 17, according to the police.

Both victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The teens remain in custody and will be interviewed in relation to the incident.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have filmed the altercation to come forward.
