Firefighters tackle house fire

CAULFIELD NORTH, VIC. — Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire in Caulfield North shortly before midnight on Sunday.

Firefighters arrived within 6 minutes to find flames issuing from the roof of a double-storey brick home, as well as two cars in the driveway.

The occupants of the home were able to escape the blaze without injury.

With the fire threatening neighbouring properties, firefighters evacuated families from homes on either side.

The fire was declared under control at 12:38am, 41 minutes after FRV arrived on scene.

The second floor of the home has been extensively damaged in the fire.

The fire has been deemed suspicious.

Victoria Police will investigate.
