ADELAIDE, SA. — The International Space Station’s ARISS program “contact is go” (confirmed) between the Space Station and the Australian Air League (AAL) this Friday, August 14.
Astronaut Jack Hathaway, KJ5NIV, aboard the ISS will talk via ham radio with the Australian Air League (AAL) in Adelaide. The contact is scheduled for Friday, August 14 at 10:56 UTC (8:26pm Australian Central Standard Time/6:56am US EDT). So, that’s 7:56pm this Friday for Australian east coast stations on AEST.
Mr Hathaway will use the OR4SS callsign.
The ground station for this contact will be Claudio, IK1SLD, located in northern Italy, who will supply the audio from this contact via the Amateur ‘Ham’ Radio Telebridge.
Those in Europe can listen directly on the 145.800MHz FM space-to-earth downlink.
Anyone can listen to this contact live from anywhere in the world via EchoLink *HAM* Node 69556 and IRLP Node 9556, as well as a range of other linked VoIP modes, but you will need to be a licensed and verified (by your radio operator’s certificate) amateur radio operator to access these services.
