Detectives are investigating after a 19-year-old man was left with serious injuries following a stabbing in the CBD overnight.

Detectives are investigating after a 19-year-old man was left with serious injuries following a stabbing in the CBD overnight.

Emergency services were called to reports of a man found injured in the vicinity of Queen and Franklin Streets at about 10:30pm.

Police arrived to find a man with injuries consistent with a stabbing.

The 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It was reported to police that a man wearing a backpack was spotted running from the scene towards Elizabeth Street.

Despite a thorough search of the area, the man was not located.

A crime scene has been established.

Investigations remain ongoing.
