NORTH MELBOURNE, VIC. — Firefighters responded to several calls for a kitchen fire in North Melbourne just before midday on Sunday.
Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews arrived at the Errol Street scene within four minutes and found a kitchen fire involving a wood-fired oven that had spread into the extraction system.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire while preventing it from spreading.

Approximately 15 people were evacuated from the premises.
The fire was deemed under control by 12.16pm.
The cause of the fire is not known.
