MELBOURNE, VIC. — Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following an alleged assault in Melbourne’s CBD yesterday morning.
Police will allege the pair approached two men on King Street and assaulted them about 1.30am on Saturday, August 8.
The two victims, both aged 28 and from Dandenong, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
Police arrested a 27-year-old woman at a nearby carpark a short time later.
The 20-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with intentionally causing injury, affray and theft.
He was remanded to next appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 11.
The 27-year-old Melbourne woman was charged with affray and unlawful assault.
She was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 28, 2027.
It is understood two other men fled the scene of the incident before police arrival.
The investigation remains ongoing.
