A Pakistan-born man appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated conditions.

The man, 33, was charged after he was located in Melbourne.

Police will allege he breached the conditions of his Commonwealth visa between March 5, 2025, and March 19, 2025, by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations and failing to maintain his electronic monitoring device.

He has been charged with one count of failing to remain at a specified address and one count of failing to wear a monitoring device.

Each offence carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment or a $93,900 fine.
