Detectives yesterday arrested an 18-year-old Ringwood man following a fire that caused significant damage at the Heatherwood School in Donvale over the weekend.
It is alleged an unknown male attended the Heatherwood School on Springvale Road, Donvale about 1.30pm on Saturday, August 26.
The northwest corner of the building was allegedly set on fire from inside and a male was seen exiting the school and running from the scene.
The fire has destroyed five classrooms and a canteen.
A Ringwood man was arrested yesterday and released pending further enquiries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
