Missing Persons Squad detectives are searching an area of Cape Schank as part of their investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Sergio Cuesta in 2023.
The search, taking place yesterday and today, Friday, April 4, will focus on an area near the Gunnamatta Surf Club.
Over the past 18 months, police have conducted several searches in the area to locate Sergio’s remains.
Sergio was last seen on September 16, 2023 when he was dropped off by a male friend on Jabiru Drive in Chelsea Heights.
A concerned female friend reported the 28-year-old Colombian national missing to police on September 21, 2023 after she hadn’t heard from him in several days.
Last year, four people were charged with murder concerning Sergio’s disappearance.
A 50-year-old Mt Eliza man was charged in January 2024, while a 26-year-old Flagstone man, a 26-year-old Logan Reserve man and a 24-year-old Flagstone woman were charged in February 2024.
The investigation remains ongoing.
