Detectives are investigating a burglary in South Yarra on Wednesday, February 19 after a silver Holden sedan parked outside Toorak Road store at about 4am.

Detectives are investigating a burglary in South Yarra on Wednesday, February 19 after a silver Holden sedan parked outside Toorak Road store at about 4am.

Police understand four offenders got out of the vehicle and smashed the front shop window.

Police were told they ransacked the store, stealing jewellery, handbags and clothing.

The offenders then fled in the Holden and remain at large.

A sledgehammer and some of the stolen items were located at the scene.
