Detectives continue investigating a suspicious building fire on Devonshire Road, Sunshine on Saturday, February 25.
Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives were told a commercial business was set alight at about 4am.
The fire quickly spread and destroyed two businesses and extensively damaged three more businesses.
Detectives are also investigating whether the same man was involved in a burglary and theft committed on an adjacent business, a greengrocer before the fire was lit.
