EAST MELBOURNE, VIC. — A third man has been charged and remanded in custody following an aggravated burglary on former AFL coach and ABC Sport commentator Mick Malthouse.
North West Metro Regional Crime Squad detectives have charged a third man following an alleged aggravated burglary in East Melbourne on September 4.
Detectives from Taskforce Hawk also assisted with yesterday’s charges, after information about the alleged offending was located during a separate, unrelated investigation into criminality linked to the construction industry.
This follows the arrest of three men and a woman last month after a spate of offending across various Melbourne suburbs.
A 49-year-old Essendon North man has been charged with attempted aggravated home invasion, burglary, intentionally causing injury and unlawful possession of a radiocommunications device.
Malthouse, 72, used an exercise bar to fend off the intruders of his East Melbourne home.
