BULLEEN & TARNEIT, VIC. — Detectives from Taskforce Echo yesterday charged two Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members as part of an investigation into an affray where a firearm was produced.
With assistance from the Special Operations Group, two men were taken into custody yesterday afternoon in Bulleen and Tarneit.
A 28-year-old Taylors Hill man was charged with affray and possessing steroids.
He appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
A 32-year-old Tarneit man was charged with affray, possessing steroids and possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms.
He appeared before the Wyndham Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Two handguns and steroids were seized from the addresses.
The charges follow an incident where it will be alleged two men attended a residential address in Harkness on Tuesday, 30 June armed with a handgun.
An affray occurred, and the men allegedly used the firearm to threaten the victims.
Nobody was physically injured during the incident.
Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
