Police have arrested a man and a woman after a police car was rammed in Blackburn last night.

Officers in an unmarked car were patrolling Whitehorse Road at 9.50pm on Sunday, June 29, when they observed a black Holden Commodore ute speeding along Whitehorse Road.

They followed the Commodore to the rear car park of a nearby hotel and watched the ute ‘cut a number of laps’ around the car park before stopping.

Officers pulled up behind the ute and activated their lights.

Police allege the driver of the ute immediately reversed into the front of the police car and continued accelerating, causing the wheels of the Holden to spin.

Officers got out of their car, attempting to gain entry into the Commodore.

The driver, a 37-year-old man from Parkville surrendered to police.

A 27-year-old woman from Blackburn North was also arrested at the scene.

Further enquiries revealed the ute was a stolen vehicle.

The pair are currently assisting police with enquiries.
