HEIDELBERG WEST, VIC. — Police investigators last night charged a woman and a man as part of an investigation into a hit-run collision in Heidelberg West last weekend.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives were conducting a search warrant at a residence of Narvick Crescent in Heidelberg West about 7am yesterday.
A witness described to 7 News Melbourne the chaotic scene: “The car just peels out of here, and I hear a bunch of banging and crashing, and now I’m seeing the damage, and I’m like, oh my god.”
As officers approached the property, it is alleged a vehicle parked in the driveway drove at police, forcing them to jump out of the way.
Thankfully, no officers were injured.
“All the cops just come out of the cars and tackle this guy, and I’m just like, what’s going on?” another witness said.

The stolen ute then subsequently crashed into a tree, where the occupants, a 42-year-old man and 15-year-old girl, both from Heidelberg West, were arrested.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the Navrick Crescent property, arresting a 51-year-old Heidelberg West woman without incident.
The 51-year-old woman is charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, theft of a motor vehicle, fail to stop, fail to render assistance and unlicensed driving.
She is remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
The 42-year-old man is charged with aggravated intentional expose emergency worker to risk, theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences.
He is remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The 15-year-old is expected to be charged via summons in relation to theft of a motor vehicle.
The arrests form part of the investigation into an alleged hit-run in Heidelberg West on Saturday, August 1.
Emergency services were called to Blackwood Parade following reports a man had been hit by a car about 7.30pm.
It is alleged the 68-year-old man was struck by his vehicle, a black Honda CRV, as he attempted to prevent it being stolen from his property.
He was transported to hospital, where he currently remains with life-threatening injuries.
The car has been seized for forensic testing.
The Honda CRV was located yesterday on Tobruk Avenue in Heidelberg West.
