Mill Park police appeal for help after attempted Bundoora carjacking

Police detectives are appealing for information and dash cam footage after a 34-year-old Bundoora man was washing his car parked on a nature strip on Sanctuary Drive, Bundoora.

Around 9.20am today (24 April) it’s alleged a dark hatchback pulled up alongside the Bundoora man.

Two males, one armed with a metal pole, exited the car and approached the victim, demanding he hand over his car keys.

The victim refused and was struck a number of times to the arm before the offenders got back into the hatchback and fled.

He sustained bruising and attended a local medical clinic.

The vehicle has been described as a Suzuki Baleno and was last seen travelling west along Settlement Road.

It had no front or rear number plates fixed, and also had a damaged rear windscreen.

Police believe the car may have then travelled to Little River, where it was involved in a petrol drive-off at a service station on the Princes Highway about 10.20am.

The offenders are perceived as Caucasian in appearance and have been described as aged in their late teens.

Police urge anyone with information, particularly anyone who may have dash cam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
