FRANKSTON SOUTH, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives have arrested a 55-year-old Frankston man following a fatal hit-and-run collision in Frankston South at about 5.30am yesterday.
Emergency services were called to reports that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian on Frankston-Flinders Road, near Highland Drive.
The pedestrian, an 83-year-old Frankston South woman, died at the scene.

The 55-year-old Frankston man contacted police and was arrested in Seaford at about 10.30am yesterday.
He was interviewed by detectives.
An investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
