A manhunt is underway as homicide squad detectives investigate the fatal shooting of two people in Rye this morning.
Police understand an altercation occurred between a group of people at a Parson Street, Rye address shortly after 4am.
On police arrival, a man and woman were located with gunshot wounds, police said.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services to revive the pair, they were declared deceased at the scene.
Police believe a second man fled the scene.
At this early stage in the investigation, it’s believed the parties were known to each other.
A crime scene has been established while detectives investigate to determine what occurred.
