Woman assaulted in Eltham last night

Police are investigating the circumstances after a woman was assaulted walking home from the Eltham Festival last night.

Police understand the woman attended the Eltham Festival and was assaulted by an unknown person whilst walking home.

The assault is believed to have occurred in the vicinity of Silver Street sometime between 8pm and 8.45pm.

Police believe occupants of a car stopped to assist the woman who was found lying on the ground, who may be able to assist police with their investigation.

A man and woman with a young girl in the car drove the allegedly assaulted woman home to her Eltham North address.

The woman sustained injuries to her face and arms.

Investigators are keen to speak to the occupants of the car and any witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
