Yarra Ranges Council proposes speed limit reductions

LILYDALE, Victoria — Yarra Ranges Council is proposing speed limit reductions on nine roads in response to resident concerns about safety.

Council is advocating to VicRoads a campaign to lower speed limits on Old Healesville Road between Yarra Glen and Healesville from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.

The proposal follows residents contacting council with concerns about speed limits on local roads.

Yarra Ranges Council is advocating for speed limit reductions on roads including:

  • Old Healesville Road, Yarra Glen and Healesville
    Proposal to reduce speed limit from 100km/h to 80km/h
  • Lauriston Drive, Coldstream
    Proposal to reduce speed limit from 60km/h to 50km/h
  • Station Street, Coldstream
    Proposal to reduce speed limit from 70km/h to 60km/h
  • Lilydale Road, Healesville
    Proposal to reduce speed limit from 60km/h to 50km/h
  • Liverpool Road, Kilsyth
    Proposal to reduce speed limit from 80km/h to 70km/h
  • Glenfern Road, Upper Ferntree Gully 
    Proposal to reduce speed limit from 80km/h to 70km/h

Residents on the proposed roads have been sent letters, outlining the proposal and asking for feedback.

Yarra Ranges residents and visitors are encouraged to share their thoughts through an online form.

The survey closes 4pm on Friday, 28 June.
