The elder Salerno was involved in high-profile criminal proceedings in South Australia. He was convicted of child sexual offences in 2019, but that conviction was quashed on appeal.

Karl Stefanovic is now wearing branded Ringers Western cowboy hats and boots and clothing on his podcast as he tells anyone who’ll listen that he’s finally ‘unfiltered’ and ‘just right.’
Ringers Western trades heavily on regional Australian identity and authentic bush grit.
Ringers Western product labels confirm key lines — including their iconic footwear and hats — are manufactured overseas in Mexico, with other apparel produced in South-East Asia. They are not made in Australia as Ringers Western falsely proclaim.
They are made overseas by, you guessed it, cheap overseas labour, rather than employing Australians to manufacture their products.
Global manufacturing is standard across retail, but pitching products as “built for hard work on the Australian farm” while downplaying overseas supply chains creates a clear gap between marketing myth and reality.
