It’s Time. Morrison calls election for 18 May

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison this morning visited Government House and asked Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove to dissolve the 45th Parliament for an 18 May election.

Kinglake Ranges News will report on the election in conjunction with The Junction, UniPollWatch and Channel 31 Melbourne.

Whilst our major focus is the Federal seat of Indi, we’ll also be covering the electorates of Cooper, McEwen, Scullin, JagaJaga and Menzies.

It’s interesting to note that all of Murdoch’s News Ltd tabloids and The Australian had headlines about the election in first-print run editions and, according to sources, other media were’nt informed.

Apparently other media learnt of Morrison’s late-night dash from Melbourne to Canberra to visit the Governor-General this morning after Murdoch’s papers hit the streets.

How did only Murdoch’s papers manage to get this story on today’s front page before news broke in all other Australian media?
