CANBERRA, ACT. — Seldom few, if any, mainstream media outlets, or their journalists addressed, nor reported on the large elephant in the room. The fact that Pauline Hanson, who last year addressed a Nazi rally alongside neo Nazi Thomas Sewell.
Last Wednesday, June 17, Pauline Hanson addressed the National Press Club (NPC) after Fox News journalist and NPC President Tom Connell invited Pauline Hanson to speak.
Last year, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Pauline Hanson was a guest speaker at a ‘Put Australia First‘ (now rebranded as Reignite Democracy Australia) rally.
Whilst ‘Put Australia First’ and ‘March for Australia’ claimed to have ‘nothing to do with the NSN’, several journalists and the ABC fact-checking unit discovered direct links between them all. VicNews has since confirmed this by joining their Telegram channels using a pseudonym.

Hanson has frequently attended anti-immigration and “March for Australia” rallies too, which have been targeted and “sometimes crashed by members of the neo-Nazi National Socialist Network (NSN).” That last sentence is incorrect. Both March for Australia and Put Australia First invited members of the now-banned National Socialist Network.
These rallies were not ‘crashed’ by NSN. They, along with Hanson, were invited to attend and speak. That is not ‘crashing’ anything.
Why haven’t mainstream media journalists, with the resources of their major newsrooms, a legal desk of bigwig lawyers, addressed and reported on the fact that Pauline Hanson has willingly accepted invites to either attend or address Nazi rallies?
Perhaps someone should explain to Pauline Hanson that in a democracy, the role of a journalist – the fourth estate – is to hold power to account. If Pauline doesn’t like that, then she could always just resign from Parliament and reopen her Ipswich Fish and Chip shop. It appears many mainstream media journalists have forgotten this, too.
By most accounts, it appears today’s journalists, besides having the spines of a jellyfish, are all now fighting each other as to who can be the next Joseph Goebbels.
We acknowledge that Guardian journalist Sarah Martin was, by most accounts the only journalist at Hanson’s NPC address with a spine.
The National Press Club did not respond to a request for comment.
